The Confluence Project is an interdisciplinary project designed by teachers at Binghamton High School, Binghamton, New York, as way to focus learning and make it relevant for students. Binghamton is located at the confluence of the Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers. This geographical fact has influenced the development, culture and economy of this area for more than 200 years. This website will serve as a means to bring together resources and to make the project visible to teachers, students, parents, and the community at large. The impetus for this project began with the River of Words website.

Areas of Study may include:
*Environmental science and the investigation of the watershed
*History and geography
*Art, dance, music, literature
*The concept of confluence as a physical reality and as a symbol

Inquiries, contributions, submission of information, or corrections may be sent by email to the Binghamton Schools or addressed to The Confluence Project, English Department, Binghamton High School, 31 Main Street, Binghamton, New York 13905.
